The Ray School is contacted by local businesses and non-profits to make our parents aware of upcoming opportunities. We publish information that directly supports or enhances our K-5 population. Please note that these are not school sponsored events.

Doodle for Google

Each year, Google sponsors a Doodle for Google contest that encourages creativity and compassion.  This year's theme is "I show kindness by...." Last year, RMS had a finalist in the contest. If your child is interested in participating, please go to  doodle4google.com  for more information.  The contest closes on March 13, 2020.

Astronomy Day

Game Day in Spanish

On Thursday, Jan. 30th at 4:00 at the Etna Library, Señora Silvia Holman from the Ray School will lead ¡ A jugar ! Game Day in Spanish.  This will be a fun introduction to Spanish for primary grade children. For more information, call 603-643-3116 or e-mail etna.library@hanovernh.org.


Family Day at Hood Museum

Family Day: Strike a Pose!

Sunday, February 2, 12-5 pm

 

Drop in to see our new lineup of exhibitions, featuring many different types of photographs and portraits. Create your own photo props and strike a pose in front of our magic mirror photo booth! You can also explore the museum on your own using family activity cards. 

 

This event is for children ages 4 to 12 with adult companions. The event is FREE, and no registration is required.

Igloo Build and the Science of Winter

Vacation Day Camp, February 17–21 2020, at the Hulbert Outdoor Center.

Kids in grades K-6 can pack their winter and spring breaks full of games, exploring, crafts, fresh air, new friends, good food and more! Come one or two days or the entire week. A variety of indoor and outdoor activities, delicious meals and snacks, and experienced and caring staff all without breaking the bank. Early drop off available at the Hulbert Outdoor Center. Transportation Available from Campion Ice Rink in Hanover, NH.

Spots are filling quickly! Enroll to ensure your spot is secure.

Dartmouth Alliance for Children of Color

DACC is a student-founded organization on Dartmouth's campus that organizes play dates that connect children of color in Hanover and the Upper Valley with each other as well as Dartmouth students of color. Every Friday afternoon from 3:30pm to 5:30pm, we host laid back and fun events ranging from arts and crafts to exploring science to cultural enrichment at Dartmouth's Shabazz Center.  It is free for children and adults and it is a great way for children to meet each other outside of school! Ford Sayre Ski Jumping Nights 

Who: Beginners, Boys and Girls, Grades K through 6 (or older if you dare!) 

When: Monday & Wednesday Nights Starting mid-January 

Time: 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. 

Where: Oak Hill Ski Jumps above Storr’s Pond in Hanover 

Cost: Show up at any practice. Your first night is free. Kids bring their own alpine skis, boots and helmet to begin. Our club has a large inventory of ski jumping equipment for enthusiastic kids who join the program. 

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! Young Skiers will learn what Ski Jumping is all about and practice their new skills on our two foot high “Bunny Hill”! If skiers enjoy their intro night they’ll have the opportunity to join our club, training and fun tournaments throughout the ski season.

The Family & Friends Support Group

A support group for the supporters:  If you are trying your best to support a friend, family member or neighbor who is struggling with substance use or who is in recovery - join us!  Group meets every other Wednesday 6:30pm - 8pm at Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital in conference room. Being there for someone who is struggling with substance use or who is navigating recovery can be stressful, painful and confusing.  As people who are in recovery, we understand the complexities of substance abuse and can help guide you on how best to support your family member, friend or neighbor. We offer a unique perspective from first-hand experience.
