This week’s warm weather brought us a lot of outside time. Thank you, PTO, for the generous funding of a grant by Robin Henry for a new chalk supply. Thank you to our students for adding color to our front entrance and sidewalks!
Enjoy the weekend!
As a reminder here is a copy of the Specials rotation schedule for the rest of the school year.

Third Trimester Learning Placement
As vaccines become more widely available, we are receiving more inquiries about having students return to in-person learning. We are asking families to respect the placement choice made for the third trimester. We cannot accommodate requests for placement changes at this time due to space and staffing constraints. We also want to avoid a "first come, first served" situation for those that are able to get vaccinated first. We look forward to the day we are all together again, and this is a very difficult message to have to write. We thank you for your understanding.
Registration is open for students to attend kindergarten in the fall. Here is a link to the letter to help explain registration this year. Please contact the school registrar, Gwyn Dessert, at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
2021/22 Ray School Enrollment
You should have already received the form to let us know if your student(s) will be returning to the Ray School next year. We do realize that some people may be unsure of their plans for the fall, but this is very helpful as we start to plan for staffing and placement. Here is a link to the form if you haven’t already received it.
This week, parent Ashley Roberts dropped off 141 pounds of food to the Haven. Once again, the Upper Valley Haven is so appreciative of our efforts. Please continue to send in contributions with your students. Together we are making a difference. We are asking for their top five most needed items. Thank you!
- Shelf stable milk
- Canned Chicken
- Canned Tomatoes
- Peanut Butter
Ray School Math Night: ‘Dare Mighty Things!’
Join us for some virtual cosmic fun at a Space-themed Math Night on Monday, April 5, 6-7 PM!
- Curious about how engineers help put people into space? Our speaker Stephanie Geoffrion is a Spacecraft Engineer at SpaceX! She is going to tell us what engineers do and about her favorite project, working on the Dragon spacecraft. Questions are welcome at the end.
- It would not be a Ray math night without Mrs. James’s ‘candy jar’ challenge! Be the one to win it for your class with the best estimate!
- Would you like to try landing your own spacecraft? Inspired by Perseverance’s successful touchdown on Mars, figure out how to make your own lander arrive safely to your choice destination! Parents – your younger space engineers may be in need of some assistance! Robert Crockett, Ray parent and space enthusiast will coordinate the activity.
- Registration is closed. For in person families, space kits will be delivered to your child’s teacher and will come home with your child in advance of Math Night (April 1st-2nd). For remote families, space kits will be available at Ray School in the vestibule (starting April 1st).
Thank you to those who attended our last meeting. Minutes can be found here.
Our next meeting will be Thursday, April 22 at 7 pm via Zoom. All Ray families are welcome to attend.
