This week was filled with the sound of children’s voices, joining together in harmony, during our holiday concerts in the gymnasium. Additionally, parents and students were treated to informal band concerts in our lobby and multipurpose area. Students worked diligently over the past many weeks to prepare for their performances. Thank you, Jim Lorenz (music teacher), Carol Hartman (accompanist), and Bob Maurer (band teacher) for all your hard work. Thank you, families, for supporting our music programs.
The lyrics of the song “Here in My House," chosen and performed by the staff chorus, express our wish for the Ray School community:
“Season of light, season of cheer, season of peace, may it last throughout the year.”
K/1 Holiday Sing Along
Families of our students in kindergarten and first grade, we look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, December 19th at 8:20 for our holiday sing along.
How Was Your Day?
Fourth grade teacher Susan Hendrickson shared this blog post about how to encourage students to talk to parents about their school day. If you usually ask, “How was your day?” and typically hear one word answers or short, general statements, consider using the questions from this blog post to get more information about what is happening in your child’s life at school.
December Haven Helpers
We have one final week in December for our school-wide collection of children’s underwear. Items can be placed in the bins in the front lobby.
Be sure to visit Mascoma Bank during the month of December to see Ray School student art work displayed on all three floors.
