Walking Club
Next Tuesday, September 11, the Ray School Walking Club will start up again. The Walking Club is open to all students, staff, and parents. We meet on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, at 7:45, from now until the Thanksgiving break. We start at the front of the school and walk around the Ray School "track" (the sidewalks and path around the front of the school.) Participants may join in at any time, as they or their buses arrive at school. We attempt to complete three laps (about 1 mile) before school. There is no sign up or obligation to come every Tuesday and Thursday. Just join us when you can and add a few more minutes of fun activity to your day.

Physical Education News
In the next two weeks, students in grades 3, 4, and 5, will begin to train for the health-related fitness assessments that will take place the week of October 22nd. As part of that test we will be practicing the PACER, a shuttle type run in the gym, and running outside on the Ray School track. Please make sure that children who use inhalers know when they have PE and where their inhalers are kept if they need them. As always, if you have questions, please contact your child's PE teacher and/or the school nurse.
