Traffic Control
Our snow removal company is doing its best, but snow banks continue to
build. We urge anyone parking near the end of the driveway, for
student drop off and pick up, to leave plenty of room for the school
busses to enter. This means there should be no cars parked the
last 25
yards or so (the first sign is a good marker). It is dangerous
when a
bus has to back up to reenter the drive way. Please help us out
on
this.
Secondly, please be aware that parking on Reservoir Road is
dangerous.
We do not want children waiting for pickup that far from the
building.
Drive all the way into the parking lot so that children can use the
walkways to get to your car. Thank you for your cooperation.
Parent Survey
We'd like to thank all of you who have filled out the Ray School Parent
Survey. We are extending the deadline to Monday afternoon.
We have a
decent return rate thus far, but we would love to have input from all
Ray School parents. Again, to fill out the survey, go to
the Ray
School Web page http://www.rayschool.org/and click on the Survey link.
Kindergarten Registration/New First
Grade Registration
Registration packets were sent to the parents of all children, of whom
we are aware, who will be age eligible for kindergarten, or new to our
first grade program, in the 2008-2009 school year. If you have a
child, or know of others, who plan to register but did not receive a
packet, please call the school and one will be sent. A
Kindergarten/New First Grade Parent Information Program will be held
Thursday evening, April 10, at 7:00 p.m. for the parents of incoming
students. Registration will be held Friday morning, April 11.
Passports to Winter Fun
Completed "Passports to Winter Fun" and Healthy Heart month sheets
should be returned by Monday, March 3rd to the PE teachers. Students
should complete the last sheet in the Passport, tear it off, and then
hand it in. T-shirts and any raffle prizes that are won will be sent to
students. Thanks to all who participated in these programs that were
designed to encourage more daily physical activity. It's been fun
watching the front showcase fill up with the names of our student All
Stars! Still looking for more ways to be active in March? We are
sending home a March elementary fitness calendar with a few ideas along
with today's pink sheet.
Social Thinking Workshop
The first Social Thinking Workshop was a victim (along with so many
things) of the most recent snow day. We will try again on March 13. It
is unlikely that we will be able to reschedule the February date but we
can look at that together as we go through the remaining three
sessions. Looking forward to seeing you all in March!
PTO News
The next PTO meeting will be held on Monday, March 3, at 7:00 p.m., in
