NECAP Results
Students in grades three to five will be bringing home their results from the state testing which occured this past Fall. If you would like more detailed information about the tests, a guide is available from http://reporting.measuredprogress.org/NECAPpublicNH/.

Ray Cafe Menu Change
Please make your child(ren) aware that there will be a few menu item changes during the next few weeks. The following will be served: Tuesday 2/12 - Mozzarella Sticks (see 2/7 menu), Thursday 2/14 - Chicken Nuggets (see 2/12 menu), Thursday 2/28 - Tacos (made with beef), Refried Beans, Fruit, Graham Crackers.

Parent Survey
We would like parents to be aware that from February 26 to 29, we will disseminate online the Parent Satisfaction Survey. Next weekÕs pink sheet will give detailed instructions on how to access the information.

Hanover School Board Meeting
This monthÕs Hanover School Board meeting has been rescheduled to Monday, February 11, at 4:00 p.m., in the Ray School Office Conference Room.

Meet the Candidates
Parent & Community Forums will be held on Monday, February 11 and Wednesday, February 13, to meet candidates for Richmond Middle School Principal. The forums will be held at the Richmond Middle School Auditorium at 5:30 p.m.

Ray Writers
Ray Writers will begin on Monday, January 28th, from 2:45 to 4:15, in the Library.
5th grade Ray Writers will meet on 2/25, 3/10 and 3/24.
4th grade Ray Writers will meet on 4/7, 4/21, 5/ 5 and 5/19.
(There may be a few spaces available for students in grades 4 and 5 who have not yet signed up). Students in grade 3 who are already signed up for Ray Writers will have an opportunity to meet again in the fall. If you have questions, please feel free to call either Hatsy McGraw or Sherrie Greeley.

Lost and Found
Found items are on display in the hall outside the Ray Cafe. When you are in the building, please check for items you may be missing. On Friday, February 22, items left unclaimed will be donated to a local charity.

Haven Helpers

If you were in the K-1 pod recently, you may have seen the overflowing recycling bins...a HUGE thank you to all the parents, teachers and children (and also to Robin Henry), who made the January Haven Helpers food drive a smashing success. This month, the 2nd graders are well on their way with their own collection. Thank you to so many of you for your continual willingness to help with donations and transportation!

Local Activities
A Pancake Breakfast,
sponsored by Youth-In-Action, will be held on Saturday February 9th, from 8:30 to 10:30 at the Black Community Center in Hanover. The fee for the breakfast is $5 for adults and $3 for students and children. Proceeds will benefit the Shelby Sirlin Community Service Award. Every year the students cook and serve pancakes to raise money for the Shelby Sirlin Award. This award is given on class day to a member of the senior class in memory of Shelby Sirlin who was a HHS student and active student volunteer.

Hanover Nursery School will be hosting a Valentine's Day Cookie Sale on Thursday, February 14th. We will be set up front of the Town Hall in Hanover from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Please stop by to pick up a sweet treat for someone special!. Thank you for supporting the Hanover Nursery School.

On Saturday, February 9th, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the Lebanon CCBA will hold a free celebration for girls of National Girls and Women in Sport Month. Local high school and college athletes will offer instruction in a variety of sports. Snacks, giveaways, and fun are all are part of the planned activities. Call 448-6477 for more information.

Art Instructors needed-The Hanover League is looking to expand their instructor base for kids classes in all areas, particularly ceramics and mixed media. If anyone would like to teach week long intensive classes, please contact the League of NH Craftsmen. They are particularly seeking teachers for classes throughout the summer. Classes run from 9:00 a.m. till 12:00 noon, Monday through Friday. This is a great part time opportunity to work creatively with children in a great studio setting!

Summer Days Camp offers a one week vacation camp from February 18-22, for children ages four to twelve. Camp is held at the Upper Valley Events Center on Route 5 south, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There is a three day minimum. Howe Library February Vacation Special programs are as follows: Peter Boie, magician, will perform on Thursday, February 21, at 10:30, in the Mayer Room A magic workshop, for children seven and up, will follow from 11:30 to 12:30. (Please sign up for the workshop at the library.) Beginning Origami, for children ages six & up, will be held on Wednesday, February 20, from 10:00 to 11:30. (Sign up in the children's room.)
